FAAN promises hitch free Sallah celebration

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has affirmed it readiness to ensure all airport users enjoys a hitch free Sallah celebration.
The agency said as part of it preparations to ensure the seamless facilitation of passengers during the Sallah celebrations and beyond include the refurbishing of the VIP Protocol lounge at the General Aviation Terminal, Lagos recently.
The agency in an electronic email said “Also, maintenance of the conveyor belts at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos has been completed and functioning optimally. In addition, airport security and other logistics have been upgraded and strengthened to provide for the expected increase in passenger traffic in and around our airports.
New directional display units have been provided to guide travellers, especially new ones, at our airports. Airport dos and don’ts banners have also been displayed at strategic locations to educate newcomers.”
FAAN advice the general public and intended travellers to make early preparations towards completing their travel requirements in good time, “we will also like to re-state that receiving of dignitaries at restricted areas by security agents and airport officials is prohibited and anyone found wanting will be prohibited.”
Meanwhile, the agency fixed a minor power interruption at the public concourse of the International wing of the airport in Lagos.
The incident, which briefly occurred at night on Wednesday, saw a section of the terminal thrown into darkness before a team of engineers swung in to action to restore normalcy to the affected areas.
While assuring airport users of safety and security the airports, it apologise to passengers, airlines and the general public for the inconvenience caused by the interruption.
