N23.3bn worth of property lost in Kaduna crisis -Group

The Southern Kaduna Muslim Umah Development Association , SOKAMUDA, has said property worth more than N23.3 billion were lost. to. various crises. recorded in Kaduna. State from 1980 to 2017.
The group made this known during the maiden seminar and book presentation on casualties, and property lost during the crises in the Northwest region of Nigeria.

SOKAMUDA which is the umbrella of Muslims residing in the 8 local government of Southern Kaduna zone , organized. the seminar in remembrance of their compatriots who lost their lives to what they termed avoidable crises in Kaduna.state,added that 80 percent of. killings in 2011 occurred in Southern Kaduna.
The presenter of the report Mahammad Wali, said the data is based on report submitted to formal President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011 in respect of electoral violence in various states
" Out of 827 killings in Kaduna state, over eighty Percent are from Southern Kaduna senatorial District where communal violence has been known to be pronounced over 25 years."
Wali disclosed that It was the result of the killings and destruction of property in the crises ridden Northern states, that Good luck Jonathan administration set up a Federal Government Investigation Panel on 2011 Election violence and Civil disturbance, with Shiekh Ahmed Lemu the chairman of the i panel.
In his own reaction, professor Abdulahi Ashafa from Kaduna State University , KASU disputed the assertion that killings in Southern Kaduna is religious, but political and selfish interest
Ashafa also maintained that the white paper presented by the investigative committee was not properly implemented , saying that the 7 billion Naira awarded to Kaduna victims of the crises in the state was unjustly disbursed.
In his words, "aggressors were been rewarded and given political posts while victims were turned to aggressors," he said
