Court Stops APC From Sending Delta Cndidates’ List To INEC

The Jones Erue-led faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that produced Great Ogboru as the party’s governorship candidate in Delta State has been sacked by a Federal High court in Asaba, Delta State.

The Court restrained the National Working Committee of the APC from submitting the list of all party candidates for the 2019 elections from Delta State to the INEC?

What are the implications of all these impositions by APC?

Justice Toyin Adegoke, in a ruling, ordered the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, the APC, INEC, Prophet Jones Erue and the plaintiff to maintain status quo and desist from submitting any list of candidates from Delta State from the two factions to INEC till the substantive suit filed was heard.

Recall that the Chief Cyril Ogodo-led State Working Committee in the state and others had instituted an interlocutory injunction restraining the APC and Adams Oshiomhole from submitting the list of candidates from Prophet Jones Erue-led faction to INEC.

Justice Adegoke said, “Since pre-election matters require accelerated hearings, I made the following orders that “this matter shall be given an accelerated hearing owing to the fact that it is a pre-election matter. All defendants are to take note of the tendencies of this suit.

“Parties shall maintain status quo as of today, the 17th day of November, 2018. That is the order of this court,” Adegoke ruled.
