Funny enough, his party, APC, has been 'winning' election through open vote buying (with video evidence) even in the president's home state of Katsina, during the last bye-election for Senate.
Buhari said this on Sunday while holding an interactive session with the Nigerian community in China.
The president is in China for the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit.
“I have no fear about free and fair election, because that’s what brought me here,” he said in a video shared on the presidency’s Twitter handle.
Buhari also talked about how he became president after trying four times.
“I know what I went through,” he said, adding that, “I tried four times… and the fourth time technology came and helped us and people’s vote counted”.
He also called on Nigerians in China to support his government and vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 general election.
Buhari, who is seeking re-election, is expected to clinch the ticket of his party for the presidential poll.
