Pop singer arrested for dancing in undies and eating banana suggestively

A pop singer has been arrested after releasing her latest racy music video, which shows her performing in her underwear while 'suggestively' eating a banana.

The Egyptian music artist, known as Shyma, has come under fire in her home country for the video, which shows her in a classroom full of men.

Shyma's song, I Have Issues, has now received a number of complaints, according to police, who said she was arrested on suspicion of 'inciting debauchery'.

In the video, Shyma appears to mimic a sexual act while eating the banana in front of a chalkboard with the words Class #69 scrawled across it.

Local news outlets slammed her video.

In a Facebook post, Shyma apologised for the video, admitting that she did not expect the backlash against it.

She said:

"I apologise to all the people who saw the clip and were upset by it and took it in an inappropriate way.
"I didn't imagine all this would happen and that I would be subjected to such a strong attack from everyone, as a young singer... who has dreamt from a young age of being a singer."

It is not clear if Shyma will be formally charged after her arrest
