Reality TV star Kim Kardashian has accidentally revealed the gender of her third child on Ellen.

The 37-year-old spilled that she and husband Kanye are expecting a baby girl while telling the story of the baby shower she threw over the weekend.

'I thought I really do want to have a baby shower, because I want her to feel that something's coming, and for her to really understand it,' she said.

'So people brought toys and gifts, and she was opening them all up the next day and she said: "mom, you know since baby sister is not here, I think I need all of her toys in my room, and I'll play with them and make sure they are all okay for baby sister.'

A beaming Ellen replied: 'She's a toy tester... and you just told us it's a girl.' Realising she spilled already, Kim smiled and confirmed a little sister was en route.

'North is really excited about that,' she said, adding it had been 'a little trickier' to convince her her brother Saint was a good thing.
