Extremely dangerous’ inmate escapes from jail for second time in less than a month | Mr Olumide's Blog
An Alabama inmate escaped from the same jail twice in less than a month.
Shane Anthony Vernon, 27, escaped from the Coosa County Jail when he “physically circumvented the security of the jail and escaped the facility” around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to Coosa County Sheriff Terry Wilson.
Captain Mike Mull, Administrator at the Coosa County Jail, declined to release further details about the escape Monday morning.
Vernon was last spotted in a wooded area in neighboring Elmore County. Authorities have said they believe Vernon stole an electric dirt bike there.
He should be considered “armed and extremely dangerous,” authorities said.
They have felony warrants for armed robbery and U.S. Marshals have become involved in the search.
