The Independent National Electoral Commission on Wednesday said it was ready to conduct the bye-election in the Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The state INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Sam Olumekun, stated this while addressing journalists on the polls.
He said the election, which was slated for September 30, became necessary  as a result of the death of  a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Kazeem Alimi, who represented the local government area.
“We have started receiving non-sensitive materials for the conduct of the election and our personnel are ready.

We will ensure a peaceful and credible election and meet the expectations of all stakeholders,” Olumekun added.
