Scholars brainstorm on education development in Nigeria

The School of Education at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) College of Education Zuba in Gwagwalada Area Council, has organised the National Conference on the state of education in the country.
In her welcome address during the opening ceremony, the Dean, School of Education, Dr Grace Ini Udom, said the conference was aimed at addressing the economic challenges as well contemporary issues relating to state of education in the nation.
She also said the purpose of the conference was to suggest ways to reduce financial leakages in order to have free monies for better funding of education, adding that the conference would pave way for innovative financing strategies.
Also speaking , the provost of the college, Dr Gambo Mohammed Hamza, assured the staff that he would continue to support the annual national conference of the college for the benefit of the participants / students.
The provost advised the participants to make use of the knowledge they had gained during the conference to better the society.
In an interview, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) chair person of the conference, Dr (Mrs) Orji Uzoaku Eunice, said the conference was an avenue where the scholars gathered to deliberate on the issues concerning the education in Nigeria.
Eunice appealed to the government of the day to deem it necessary to consider their resolutions after the conference so that the education sector would move forward.
Meanwhile, the conference which entitled “Economic Challenges and State of Education in Nigeria” featured the lead paper presenters by the Dean, Faculty of Education, UniAbuja, Prof. Musa Maisamari and the Executive secretary of Nigerian Educational Research Development Council, Prof. Ismail Junaid among other speakers.
