Covenant University & Canaanland Has 15MW Gas Plant

The gas plant was needed after a 2012 report indicated that Covenant University had spent N700m only on diesel for a year. Later they had to start buying electricity from a company in Agbara.

Then the Church started constructing a multi billion naira 15 Megawatt gas plant in 2014. The plant is ready and currently serves Canaanland and Covenant University.

The university plans to produce its own energy independent of the Church, using Solar and Waste.

Apart from saving cost, the gas plant also stopped the noise pollution from the diesel generators.
