Police arrest 3 men with human skulls in Ogun

The men of Ogun State Police Command at the weekend arrested three men who are all indigenes of Ogun State in possession of two human skull.
The three men who range from the ages of 48 years to 55years are namely Saibu Popoola, Aliu Ajiroba and Jimoh Ijiola, have been arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command for being in possession of two human skulls.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the two of the men, Saibu and Popoola were arrested when Policemen attached to Ayetoro Division were on routine patrol and accosted the duo on a Bajaj motorcycle along Idagba Olodo road with a bag which looked suspicious.
He said, immediately the Police decided to quickly conduct a search on them and the two human skulls were discovered in the said bag.
The two men were promptly arrested and taken to Ayetoro Police Station where they were interrogated and investigation conducted.
The suspects confessed to the crime but told the Police that the skulls was given to them by one Jimoh Ijiola who live in Erinpa area of the town.
Getting the information from the two suspect prompted the Divisional Police Officer,DPO Ayetoro Division CSP Makinde Kayode who led detectives to the resident of the accused suspect where he was also arrested.
In his own statement, he denied been the person that gave them the skulls but said they all got it from neighboring Benin Republic and their intention was to use it for money rituals.
Meanwhile, the commissioner of Police CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered that the case be transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and possible prosecution of the suspects.
