Kwali council distributes agro -chemical to farmers

To ensure adequate food production which might lead to food
exportation in the council, Kwali Area Council said it has distributed agro-chemical worth thousands of naira to all the registered farmers across the ten political wards of the council.
This was disclosed to our reporter during the weekend by the Head of Agric Department in Kwali Area council, Dr. Alhasan Maji Ibrahim.
Dr. Ibrahim while commending the council Chairman, Honourable Joseph Shazin for such gesture toward farmers further expressed optimism that it could lead to food exportation within the council.
HOD Agric also disclosed measures by his council to boost food production, such as sensitization of youths on why they should venture into agriculture, massive and continuous enlightenment workshops as well as distribution of farms impute to farmers.
He maintained that at current, more people are willing to venture into farming owing to lack of white collar job observing that in his council more farm lands are now being cultivated than in previous years.
Asked to advise young graduates who continually room major streets in search of white collar jobs that do not exist said” Agriculture is the way out, young gradates must grab all opportunities available to them to venture into farming as market forces has already been created for all who want to do so”.
He noted with happiness that weeds control chemicals as well as mechanized farming initiated by his council had move several people into farming activities while huge cash is also made at the of the day.
