From Ado Abubakar Musa, Jos The Chairman Ulama'u Council of Jama'atu Izalatil Bid'a Wa'ikamatis Sunnah, Sheik Sani Yahaya Jinhir has called on all Nigerians to participate in farminh activities in order to complemt government's effort in ensuring food security in the country. Jingir made the call yesterday during the 24th Annual National Seminar organised by the JIBWIS in Jos. While calling on participation on faming activities, the clerick through its however frowned over using of official mace during legislative processes in the National and states assemblies, adding that there was a strong need to revisit the use of mace given its "non-entrenchment in the constitution". It also cited that mace has serious religious implications, therefore a platform should be established to address the issue. It said, "We are not supporting the use of mace to judge on issues of importance in Nigeria."
